Amy Alexander, Market Chief Executive Officer, joined Peak Behavioral in August of 2025. Amy started career over 25 years ago as a social worker. Amy has a BSW from Southwest Texas State, an MSW from Our Lady of the Lake, and an MHA degree from University of Phoenix.

Amy has extensive leadership experience in behavioral health and substance use disorder. Amy has managed healthcare facilities, outpatient programs, and medication management clinics. Amy has had the opportunity to work adolescents up through older adults in a variety of healthcare settings.

Barry is the CFO at Peak Behavioral Health Hospital and has worked in healthcare finance for most of his career. Prior to joining Peak, he served as CFO for Brighton Recovery Partners, a substance abuse recovery center in Utah. He also acted as fractional CFO for Galen Hope, an eating disorder and mental health clinic in Florida.

Barry began his career after graduate school with Arthur Andersen in Phoenix, working in their strategic consulting practice. He has served as a consultant for several large accounting firms and has been involved in multiple start-up ventures. He holds an MBA from Brigham Young University and a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Utah.

Hipolito “Polo” Garza serves as the Chief Business Development Officer for Peak Behavioral Health, leading strategic growth initiatives across New Mexico and West Texas. He brings over 18 years of military healthcare administration experience and extensive executive leadership within federally qualified health centers. His expertise includes behavioral health services expansion, market development, strategic partnerships, and operational performance improvement. Mr. Garza holds an MBA in Healthcare and is passionate about increasing access to high-quality behavioral health care in underserved communities.

Mario Guzman, Chief Nursing Officer, joined us in September 2017. Mario started his career 20 years ago as a Mental Health Technician, LVN, and RN where he worked in several different roles in direct patient care. Mario is a BSN undergraduate from UTEP, MSN graduate from Walden University, and  is currently pursuing his DNP in Leadership & Management. “Team work is the ingredient for success.”

Market Director of Outpatient Services

Brad is a licensed therapist in three states. He completed his graduate studies and early training in the greater Philadelphia area before relocating to the region in 2017. Since 2018, Brad has served in various roles with Peak, including inpatient clinical supervisor and leader in the creation and implementation of the Assertive Community Treatment team in Las Cruces and greater Doña Ana County.

Currently, as the Market Director of Outpatient Services at Peak Behavioral Health, Brad oversees all outpatient programs. He is deeply passionate about community mental health treatment, with a particular focus on severe mental illness and substance use disorders. Brad works closely with community partners to bridge service gaps and enhance the quality of life for those he serves.

An esteemed professional in the field of child & adolescent psychiatry with a broad educational background, Dr. Sangra graduated with his medical degree from the American University of Antigua,  summa cum laude. He then went on to perform his residency in psychiatry at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in 2013 and completed his Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Texas Tech University Health Science of El Paso in 2018.

Prior to residency, he worked as an occupational therapist in Canada for 7 years. He graduated from University of Alberta, Edmonton, in Occupational Therapy Rehabilitation Sciences and was boarded shortly after in 1999. Prior to that, Dr. Sangra completed his degree in Biological Sciences with a major in Biological Sciences and minor in Science Psychology in 1995, at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada.

He is also a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and board certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology. He was also awarded Top Psychiatrist in Santa Teresa by America’s Best Doctors 2020.

Dr. Sangra is responsible for diagnosing and treating mental health disorders in children and adolescents in our inpatient unit and our partial hospitalization program/outpatient services and operates as the Child Adolescent Outpatient Medical Director.

He is a recognized contributor to the research and development of successful treatment programs and many publications. His core competencies include Adult Psychiatry, Chemical Dependency, Geriatric Care, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. He is board certified with The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, American Board of Addiction Medicine, American Board of Forensic Examiners, and Distinguished Life Fellow, American Psychiatric Association. Dr. Gazarov is the Medical Director for Peak Behavioral Health Services. Prior to joining Peak Behavioral in 2006, he also worked with the Army Substance Abuse Clinic at Fort Bliss, the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Sleep Disorders at the Veteran Administration, and the William Beaumont Army Medical Center in the Behavioral Health Department, where he studied principles of community-based psychiatry at outpatient clinics, psychodynamics, insight-oriented and cognitive-behavioral therapies. He is President and owner of Rio Valle Behavioral Health Centre II, P.A. ,working with adolescent and adults in the diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric disorders.

Dr. Gazarov received his medical degree from Azerbaijan State Medical Institute. He continued his training with a residency in psychiatry at Texas Tech University in El Paso, Texas. Dr. Gazarov is a member of Internal Medicine Board Review Panel of Texas Tech University Health Science Center. He is a member of Peak’s Administrative Board and Executive Medical Board Director.

Dr. Gerardo Moreira received his medical degree from Medical School of Leon, Nicaragua. He continued his education as a resident at Texas Tech University, where he served as Chief Resident in 1991.

Dr. Moreira is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and Certified in Addiction Medicine by the American Society of Addiction Medicine, Inc.
